Starts Enrollment of “Hong Kong Life ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2015”

Hong Kong Life Insurance Limited (“Hong Kong Life”) is keen to support the triathlon development in the territory, and has been title-sponsored the “Hong Kong Life Triathlon Championships” for three consecutive years since 2012. This year, Hong Kong Life introduces “Hong Kong Life ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2015”, an international sports with world-class Elite athletes. Triathlon is a great challenge to perseverance, determination and physical ability, as athletes need to compete swimming, cycling and running in immediate succession over various distances.

The two-day “Hong Kong Life ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2015” will be held in Sunny Bay, Lantau Island. Categories including the “Elite”, “Individual”, “Trikids”, “Open Relay” and “Para Relay”, will be available in different race distances. Professional, amateur or disabled, are all welcomed to participate.

Hong Kong Life has been advocating social integration in the community for years; the special “Para Relay” is introduced under this proposition. In this relay, disabled athletes could cooperate with other able-bodied athletes to complete the three sports under a team’s effort. “Para Relay” not only promotes the sports, but also allows the disabled athletes to discover and develop his/her potential and gain self-confidence. For each enrollment received, HKD20 will be donated to support the sports development for the disabled athletes, benefitting more people.

To further promote development of this challenging sport, Hong Kong Life inaugurates the “HKL Triathlete Award” targeting athletes from “The Hong Kong Triathlon National Squad”. This Award will reward those squad members who achieve outstanding performances in the upcoming “Hong Kong Life ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asia Cup 2015”, regardless of their ages and race experiences.
