Starts Enrollment of “Hong Kong Life ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2017”

Hong Kong Life Insurance Limited (“Hong Kong Life”) is a keen supporter to triathlon development in the territory, and has been title-sponsored the Triathlon Championships for six consecutive years.

On 21 and 22 October 2017, “Hong Kong Life ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2017” will assemble over a thousand overseas and local professional, amateur or disabled athletes to compete in Sunny Bay, Lantau Island. This two-day international race offers various categories and race distances. Athletes are welcome to participate in the “Elite”, “Individual”, “TriKids”, “Open Relay” and “Para Relay” with Sprint Distance, Fun Distance, Discovery Distance and TriKids Distance. Triathlon is a great challenge to perseverance, determination and physical ability, athletes need to compete swimming, cycling and running in immediate succession.

Hong Kong Life has been advocating social integration in the community for years; the special “Para Relay” is introduced under this proposition. In this relay, disabled athletes could cooperate with able-bodied athletes to complete the three sports under a team’s effort. “Para Relay” not only promotes the triathlon, but also allows the disabled athletes to discover and develop his/her potential and gain self-confidence. For each enrollment received, HKD25 will be donated to support the sports development for the disabled athletes, benefitting more people who are in need.

The organizer has also added several relay races to the schedule, including “Family Relay”, “Corporate Relay”, and “Disciplinary Forces Relay”. It hopes that the addition of relay races will attract a more diverse field of sports lovers to join.
