Underwriting Manager

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading an underwriting sub-team in handling underwriting assessment and service support to frontlines in underwriting related.

• Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures and guidelines.

• Monitor the processing of new business to ensure the service turnaround time is committed in good quality.

• Perform underwriting assessment and review the suggested cases from junior underwriters on both medical / non-medical cases within approval limits.

• Review and verify customer due diligence, AML and CTF duties in accordance with guidelines and regulations.

• Maintain good business relationships with channels.

Requirements

• Possess a degree qualification and have professional qualification; LOMA and ALU will be desirable.

• Minimum 5 years solid experience in Life and medical insurance underwriting of which at least 2 years in managerial role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and effective team player.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to all levels.

• Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking in a dynamic and changing environment.

• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
