Starts Enrollment of “Hong Kong Life Triathlon Championships 2013”

Hong Kong Life Insurance Limited (“Hong Kong Life”) has always been caring for the well-being of Hong Kong people and we strongly encourage them to live a healthy and sporty life. In order to stimulate public interest in sports, Hong Kong Life has stepped forward again as the title sponsor of the sports event – “Hong Kong Life Triathlon Championships 2013”, organized by Hong Kong Triathlon Association. Triathlon is a multiple-stage competition involving swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. The nature of the sports focuses on strength conditioning, persistency and often willpower.

In the eyes of public, triathlon is a rather grueling and difficult sporting activity. In promoting triathlon as a down-to-earth sports event for the general public, we have arranged the “Family Relay” since last year. The family members could spend time together and enjoy the excitement of sports, thus promoting family bonding and social cohesion. On the other hand, the “Best Costume Relay” was added to encourage participants showing their talent and creativity. The winner of the “Best Costume Award” will receive a cash prize of HKD2,888 sponsored by Hong Kong Life.

As a caring corporate citizen, Hong Kong Life has always addressed the needs of the underprivileged while planning for corporate event. Starting from last year, we had included the “Para Relay”, which provided a channel for the disabled athletes to gain self-esteem and also to achieve social integration within the community. The disabled athletes could cooperate with other athletes to complete the three disciplines with team's effort. Furthermore, for every enrollment form we have received, Hong Kong Life and Hong Kong Triathlon Association will donate a total of HKD20 to Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation. Not only will the participants experience this challenging sport, but they will also be involved in charitable work which is meaning a lot to the needy.
